After all, Portland State was a lowly 3-9 in the Big Sky Conference last year. The Cougars had never lost a home game to a Big Sky team, and hadn’t lost to a team from that conference since 1947. All that was enough to send Cougars fans to their Twitter accounts to blast coach Mike Leach.

Leach, who is 12-26 in his fourth season as head coach at Washington State, is signed through 2016 with a base annual salary of $2 million. A fact not lost on some Cougars fans.
