Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, normally such an assured presence at the back, produced a huge blunder to give Spain the lead over Italy in their World Cup qualifier on Thursday.
With the game level at 0-0 in the second half, Buffon came off his line to cut out a pass and completely whiffed on his clearance, leaving an empty net for Vitolo. Daniele De Rossi would go on to score a late penalty kick to earn Italy a 1-1 draw.
