Earlier today, Watch Dogs 2 Game Director Danny Belanger was asked if a non-lethal playthrough was even possible in the game, and he responded with a very positive affirmation that it was – and it was all thanks to the prerogative of the game’s design team to make it that way from the very beginning.

Here’s the direct statement from the man himself:

Of course, players who wish to go ham in regards to firearms are still able to do so, and Belanger just wanted to emphasize that there will always be a non-lethal route to complete the game – even if it makes the experience more difficult. On the streets of San Francisco, players will be able use a variety of non-lethal combos and hacks, as well as a taser gun to cover non-lethal ranged takedowns.

Ubisoft put out a brand new gameplay trailer for the game yesterday, which showed a variety of both stealth-based gameplay and gun-based combat. Players will also to do much more in the Watch Dogs universe the second time around, with new activities ranging from customizing cars to flying a drone copter. The original Watch Dogs was equally as successful with building up hype ahead of its release, but failed to deliver on the promises it made – this time around, at the very least, it looks like the promise of non-lethal capabilities is a very attainable one.

Watch Dogs 2 is scheduled to release on November 15, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
