Max, playing for the Coyotes, did the old man proud Friday night by challenging Ducks forward Ryan Kesler and then dropping him with an uppercut after Kesler took a run at Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun.

Fans in Boston, Vancouver and most other NHL cities have to be pleased with that outcome (‘cause, you, know, Kesler isn’t well-liked).

Kesler, to his credit, cleared his head and assisted on the Ducks’ final goal in a 5-1 victory. The Ducks’ Twitter feed took note.
