Open champion Molinari and Ryder Cup rookie Fleetwood were inspired at Le Golf National, winning all four matches as a pairing in Europe’s 17.5-10.5 thrashing of the United States.

Molinari went on to become the first European player to claim five points out of five with an emphatic singles success over Phil Mickelson after Fleetwood was soundly beaten by Tony Finau on Sunday.

Close friends Molinari and Fleetwood - dubbed ‘Moliwood’- have become even closer on the outskirts of the amorous city of Paris and the Europe Ryder Cup team posted a humorous video of the pair in a bed on Monday, with the Italian grasping the Ryder Cup trophy.

“How good was that for you?” asked Fleetwood, to which Molinari replied: “Four out of four.”

Englishman Fleetwood responded “I’ve give you five out of five, Frankie.”
